The Japan Game Awards 2011 gives awards for the three divisions of Games of the Year Division, Future Division, and Amateur Division as well as selecting a winner for the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award.

This award is given to an individual or organization that has recently contributed to the development of the Japanese home videogame industry.

All games that were released onto the Japanese market between April 1, 2010, and March 31, 2011,are eligible for these awards.

All pre-release games, which will be presented and exhibited at the "TOKYO GAME SHOW 2011" fromSeptember 15 to September 18, 2011, are eligible for these awards.
