The Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA, chaired by Wada Youichi, located in Nishi-shimbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo) is a computer entertainment software products awards ceremony which has been renamed to the "Japan Game Awards".

Japan Game Awards 2008 selects and awards the yearfs greatest computer entertainment software products in three divisions: "Games of the Year Division" for products released in the last fiscal year, "Future Division" for new unreleased products that will be exhibited at Tokyo Game Show 2008, and "Amateur Division" for works created by non-professional individuals, groups or corporations.

Public voting for "Games of the Year Division" will begin in mid-April. Products released in Japan between April 1, 2007 and March 31, 2008 are eligible for this division. After the popular vote, the "Japan Game Award Selection Committee" will decide on recipients of the "Grand Award", "Award for Excellence", "Global Award", and "Best Sales Award".

"Future Division" will be voted for by the visitors of Tokyo Game Show 2008. After the review by the selection committee, awards will be given to the works regarded most promising.

In the second year since its inception, "Amateur Division" incorporates former "Indies Division" and "CESA Students Game Award". Original works submitted by students and amateurs will be judged in three stages by professional creators and industry magazine editors, and winners of "Grand Award", "Award for Excellence", and "Honorable Mention" will be chosen.

General voting for the "Amateur subject" open from Monday, March 17, to Saturday, July 30.

This year, again, through tie-up with Tokyo Game Show, the world's greatest festival featuring latest computer entertainment, Japan Game Awards actively supports developing talents and motivating creators, as well as promoting the appreciation and enjoyment of computer entertainment to a wider audience.

Please look forward to Japan Game Awards 2008, where world-renowned Japanese creators will gather.
