After touching the “Wonder Flower,” great changes occur to the course such as pipes coming to life.
“Elephant Mario,” a new powerup transformation, attacks with a huge body and a long trunk, and breaks blocks to proceed.
Equipping budges with special effects, you can glide through the air with a cap and carry out various actions.
The game is full of fun. Twelve characters, the largest number in the series, appear including “Yoshi” and “Nabbit,” who are not damaged and suitable for players who are not good at actions.
Many primary school children and other fans supported the game in the general votes. That is the why the game won the award.
Work Introduction
This is completely a new game in the “Super Mario Brothers” series for the first time in about 11 years. Heading for the goal pole, Mario and his friends race through the course, breaking through enemies and tricks.
◆”Wonder,” bizarre change
After touching “Wonder Flower,” great changes occur to the course play. Pipes coming to life, hordes of enemies spawning, and character appearances and abilities changing... Each course prepares for different surprises and thrills.
◆Adventure by using your favorite character
You can play as one of 12 characters, the largest number in the series. Even if you are not good at an action game, you can play Yoshi and Nabbit at ease. They are not damaged.
◆Change into elephant form
“Elephant Mario,” a new powerup transformation, attacks with a huge body and a long trunk, and runs around the course. You can change into many other forms with special abilities.
◆Earn badges for various actions
You can use “badges” to customize abilities such as gliding through the air with a cap, and shooting vines to climb the wall.
◆Play together
If each player has Joy-Con™ controller, four players can play together at the maximum. You can enjoy adventures, helping players all over the world after establishing the online connection.

“Super Mario Brothers Wonder” is the first new 2D Mario in about 11 years. In our development team, veterans, who developed the first “Super Mario Brothers” while this was the first time for some to develop a video game.
Many staffs produce ideas regardless of profession and furthermore “overlap ideas” with the ideas, so that we could create new plays such as Wonder, badges, Talking Flower, and loosely connected online. I would like to express my gratitude towards team members, who produced over 2,000 ideas.
Before the release, we worried if these ideas would not be accepted, but many played the new Mario Game. It is a great honor for the development staffs to win this award. I would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all players who enjoyed the Flower Kingdom!
