In a world where the future is lost, players become Masters and follow characters called Servants to go back to the past and go on a journey.

As a free-to-play game with a magnificent world view, strategic battles making use of skills and command cards, personality-rich characters, and a top-quality voice acting team, Fate/Grand Order received a great deal of support from users as a high-quality game with many attractions, and as a result is was given the award.
Launched in July 2015, "Fate/Grand Order" is an RPG for smartphones developed by TYPE-MOON, and is part of the "Fate" series which includes the game "Fate/Stay Night."
The story is set in a world where the future is lost, and players become Masters and follow characters called Servants to go back to the past and go on a journey called the Quest for the Holy Grail: Grand Order.
Kinoko Nasu was responsible for the overall composition, scenarios and general supervision of the game, Takeuchi Takashi was the lead character designer, many TYPE-MOON staff and other creators participated, and DELiGHTWORKS was in charge of development and management .
In addition to the main story, there are separate stories for each Servant, and the scenarios contain over one million characters of text.
As of the third anniversary of its release on July 30, 2018, Fate/Grand Order has had over 13 million downloads in Japan, and has spread worldwide with the traditional Chinese, simplified Chinese, English, and Korean versions achieving over 30 million downloads.
We are very pleased to be awarded the Japan Game Award Excellence Award. I would like to express our gratitude on behalf of the development and management staff.
As an RPG, Fate/Grand Order did not do anything new in particular. It is no different from many other previous games where developers take a story that they believe is interesting and turn it into an RPG.
However, if there was one thing that was different, I think it was the drama that all the players chase one story and reach the conclusion.
The fact that that passion, that enthusiasm was in line with this era was lucky for us and we are also proud of that. We have realized this again by receiving this award.
Fate/Grand Order still does not match up to the great games that have gone before it, but being able to grow together with the users is also an advantage of smartphone games.
We will continue to work diligently to meet the expectations of the judges who seriously examined the game and of all of the users who voted.
Thank you so much for your great encouragement and great understanding!
Fate/Grand Order General Director Kinoko Nasu
