JAPAN GAME AWARDS2013

ceremony「Amateur Division」

General Description

Title TRI
Platform DS
School HAL NAGOYA
winner's name TEAM TANDS

Reason for Award for Excellence

This is a puzzle game where you see how fast you can continue recreating
the presented figures by combining triangles.

The point that was most highly evaluated was the simple rules that required no
explanation to begin playing, and while there is only one rule, to draw, overlay,
and delete triangles, this puzzle game has depth that instantly makes it
interesting. The design of the simple yet deep play is wonderful.

Further, the way the art expression was limited to 8-bit gradation made the
simplicity of the title “Triangle Draw” standout and achieved a good effect.

In addition, the award was given for platforms that use a pen for operating
the DS, but this is also an interesting game to play on a smartphone or a
tablet and I think this interesting aspect extends beyond language barriers,
so I look forward to it becoming popular around the world.

Work Introdution

The concept is to return to basics.
The screen is simple and mimics the 4 gradation
green monitors of computers long ago.
The rules are simple; just create on the bottom of
the screen the same figure that is shown at the
top of the screen.
To clear the stage and move on, just complete
the figure within the time limit.

The faster you clear the stage, the higher your
score will be and the longer the playing time you
will have.
Slide the cursor to create large triangles, overlap
and delete them, and trace complex figures.
Although this is a simple game of just combining
triangles, there is much depth to it.
