At the request of previous title users, a system that emphasizes the stage advancement elements and a refined presentation were used in combination with improvements made based on user tests, which prompted many series fans promoting this title for the award and resulted in its selection.
This title, FINAL FANTASY XIII-2, has shipped more than 6.5 million copies worldwide and was written with a new story continuing from the previous title FINAL FANTASY XIII.
This title has exceeded the previous one by incorporating fields and dungeons in the search elements, a new battle system where characters fight along side monster companions, rich stage advancement elements where players can take turns, mini games, and other features.
When the first title of the FINAL FANTASY series was introduced in 1987, it was the first Japanese made roll playing game and was highly praised by customers around the world for its advanced image technology, distinctive world view, and rich story. It was also aggressively expanded in the European and US markets and has reached a total global shipment of more than 100 millions copies.

I have walked together with Lightening for six years since the character first appeared in 2006 through titles FFXIII and XIII-2.
We have also had the general public involved in test play of this title from the creation stage, and this feedback led to the inclusion of many elements in the final product.

As was recently announced, the final chapter of the current Lightening story, LIGHTENING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII, is in production. I am confident this title will meet the expectations of our fans.
