The award was granted because players can choose the level of difficulty, and there is distinctive single player as well as battle play.
Further, the game has many different weapons allowing you to play to as fit your own style and preferences.
This is the first series title in 26 years since "Light Mythology: Palutena's Mirror" was released in 1986 and provides 3D action shooting starring Angle Pit, which was redesigned for "Super Smash Bros.X".
With support of Palutena, the goddess of light, Angle Pit, who cannot fly, fights the resurrected underworld army together with Medusa. This is the main objective, but later on the battle is joined by the forces of nature, Aurum army, and other armies to greatly heat up the story.
For a single player there is an aerial battle where the character can fly for just 5 minutes to head toward the enemy territory, and after landing there is a freely fought headlong long battle allowing users to enjoy the characteristics of the different types of play.
The live music that plays during the rapidly changing aerial battle matches the action well, making the action scenes more enjoyable. The land battle increases the game's attack elements, which is fought while using avoidance and powers.
The "Fiend's Cauldron" difficulty adjustment system is a system that allows players to bet on their own ability and equipment. Betting heart increases the difficulty and remuneration, but a miss results in a reduction in both heart and difficulty.
Team battles of 3-on-3 are possible using the special rules of "Light versus Dark." The rules change the team power depending on the value of the weapons, and this can be enjoyed even without progressing far into the game.
There is also many other elements not seen in a mobile game, such as:
・ Enjoy simple play using an operating system narrowed down to
・ Full voice conversation in all stories
・ There are 108 types x diverse skill "weapons" so that you will not receive the same thing
・ Bullets are inductive to prevent accurate operation
・ Strategic play using "power" equipment
・ Touch pen operation for quick targeting
・ AR Idol card
・ Comes with the standard version, which is easy to use for Nintendo DS

I am Masahiro Sakurai, the director of the title "New Palutena", and also serve as the committee chairperson for the Game Designers Awards. Which makes me one of the representatives of the Japan Game Awards.
Although I face some dilemmas, I have been trying to cooperate for the future of the computer game industry, and so I would be disheartened if people thought I had pulled strings to get this award, and so I inclined to refuse the award.
However, users who played the game wrote their comments on their ballots and there was a strong push by judging committee members. Further, I didn't make this title by myself.
So I have decided to accept this award as the representative of the staff and others involved.
The aim of this title was to provide a rich battle experience on portable game consoles.
There are many software titles that at today's level are relatively easy to get into, but this game was made for players who seek a more in-depth style of play.
The game has been given a sufficient degree of freedom, however, that someone who wants it to be simpler can advance to the end almost unchallenged.
This software title was created with the concept of providing a new play feel, good volume, and for either individual more multiplayer battles while also being an experiment in accurately reflecting the individual's game play wants and style rather than just providing quality and volume.
If you have an opportunity to play this game, please listen to your heart and play it as you like.
