This title uses none of the game purpose explanations, information displays, or conversation and text elements in order to create a world filled with mystery.
When traveling in the same world you never know who from around the world you will meet, but that person's country, name, conversation, etc., are all keep secret.
This just leaves a strong impression of an expanding world.
Many games tend to be created to be in depth and based on using much explanation, but there are almost no games that created using only the bare minimum of what is necessary.
And while this game is selected by people, it was given named as the 2012 Game Designers Award winner for its clear approach and overall high quality including that of its graphics and sound.
Take a journey where you abandon words and are bound by the heart.
This is a new story from "thatgamecompany" that brought us "flOw" and "Flowery."
You journey through a vast world relying on your heart as a compass without words or text.
You will awake to a new world and discover an ancient civilization buried in the sand.
Walk, slip, and fly as you progress through the expansive desert.
At times you will meet a character that looks the same as you.
Whether to travel with them or part ways is all up to you.
As the representative of "thatgamecompany," I want to thank the people involved with the Japanese game development that made this award possible.
It is a very great honor for "Journey" to be recognized as such a good title.
The people development team did its best to create the best game. I also want to thank the publisher, Sony Computer Entertainment America. I am also very grateful for all of the fans who continued supporting us until the game was finished.
I was strongly influenced by the Japanese games I played as a child, so when creating a game, I always want to make one that exceeds the impression made on me at that time. I cannot thank enough the people who influenced me in that way and those who supported us for this award.
Thank you very much.
