The award was given also taking into consideration user comments that, “siblings, friends, and families had function playing this together,” which was made possible by the effort taken to make it fun for people new to the game and for all
ages from children to adults.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is based in space and is the sequel to the Mario adventure Super Mario Galaxy.
An effort was made with this game to give form to the ideas that could not be incorporated into the previous work and to have as many people as possible enjoy a 3D action game.
In addition to Mario, you can also operate the familiar Yoshi while uniquely exploring the stars while floating through space.
In addition to the new item “drill” and the new transformations “Cloud Mario” and “Rolling Stone Mario,” you can enjoy playing the many variations.
During 2-person cooperative play you can use the 2P controller to operate the “Assist Luma” to participate in the adventure along with 1P Mario by defeating enemies and collecting coins.
When you just cannot clear a difficult course, you can get help from the “Helpful Witch” and “Hint TV.” The game also comes with an explanatory DVD called “Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Beginners” for people who have never played 3D Mario.

We developed this work with the idea of providing a unique and wonderful experience that would relate to as many people as possible.
We took the perspective of people not inclined toward 3D action games to tune the game to improve operability and make the camera operation almost unconscious. We also included an explanatory DVD called “Super Mario Galaxy 2 for Beginners” for people who are new to 3D action. We will be happy if this game allows more people to enjoy 3D Mario.
In addition, as a take off from this game, we are developing Super Mario 3D Land for the Nintendo 3DS and are working to get it out within the year, so we hope you will be looking forward to that as well.
Receiving this award is an inspiration to all the development staff.
