All games that were released onto the Japanese market between April 1, 2005, and March 31, 2006, are eligible for these awards.

All pre-release games, which will be presented and exhibited at the "TOKYO GAME SHOW 2006" from Friday, September 22 to Sunday, September 24, 2006, are eligible for these awards.

All non-commercially produced games, regardless of the applicant's status (professional, amateur, corporate, organization or individual), are eligible for these awards.
