Adventure take place in the vast Galar region, which has a variety of expressions, including gentle countryside, modern cities, majestic grasslands, and steep snowy mountains.
Dymax allows all Pokémon become gigantic and Gigantamax allows only certain Pokémon to become gigantic and change their appearance. Their battles were so powerful that many fans not only in Japan but also in the overseas markets support them and the game won the award.

Since the release of "Pokémon Red and Green" in 1996, the "Pokémon" series has been enjoyed by many people around the world. The first completely new game in the series in three years, “Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield” was released as software for Nintendo Switch on Friday, November 15, 2019.
“Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield” is set in the “Galar region” with a variety of faces including magnificent nature and modern cities.
The game retain basic fun of the series, such as meeting new Pokémon, battling, exchanging and breeding them, and many new elements from this game have been introduced, such as the "Dymax" phenomenon in which Pokémon become huge in certain locations in the Galar region, and "wild areas" where players can explore nature as far as the eye can see. This game can be enjoyed by people who have never played the “Pokémon” series before, as well as those who have enjoyed the previous games.

The Pokémon series began with the Game Boy and has been released for handheld hardware ever since.
However, this is the first time for a completely new title in the series to be developed on the Nintendo Switch, a hardware that can also be played on a TV screen. We wondered how we could make this game accessible to the many people who have played our previous titles. In this project, it was the part that I was very worried about.
After racking our brain, we came to the conclusion that even if the hardware changed, we should pursue the fun and enjoyment of “playing with people,” which has been an important aspect of the “Pokémon” series since its inception, and we designed this game with the hope that it would lead to a richer life.
I'm very happy if this game has created an opportunity for people to connect with each other, even if only a little.
Well, adventures in the Galar region continue.
The Pokémon Sword/Shield Expansion Pass allows players to enjoy new adventures. Vol. 1: Isolated Island of Armor has already been released, and Vol.2: Crown Tundra is scheduled to be released in fall. We do hope players will continue to enjoy them.
