The story takes place in the American continent, divided by a mysterious phenomenon called the “Death Stranding.”
A player takes on the role of legendary courier Sam Porter Bridges, delivering a variety of supplies to people in crisis and connecting the fragmented network infrastructure of the Chiral Network to rescue the imprisoned president-elect.
An open world with an epic and shocking storyline, impressive casts and overwhelming graphics.
And asynchronous multiplayer with a strand system that allows players to share traces of bridges, vehicles, etc. left behind by other players connected online, and more.

Humankind, having lost its connection, was on the verge of extinction. Sam Porter Bridges goes on a mission to transport the “future” for the people who are isolated and unable to move.
What is the “Death Stranding”? What does Sam carry and what does he connect? A shocking turn of events waits beyond the game experience that surpasses all expectations.
The game features a cast of world-class actors, including Norman Reedus, who plays the lead character Sam Bridges, as well as Mads Mikkelsen, Léa Seydoux and Lindsey Wagner.
All members of Kojima Production are highly honored that “Death Stranding” was selected for Japan Game Award for Excellence.
Last year, when we won the Future Division, we were delighted and felt a great sense of responsibility, as we felt great expectations are placed on us.
We could successfully launch the game, and I remember we were glad, delighted, and relieved to be supported by so many users, media and interested parties.
It is a great pleasure to have Death Stranding, Kojima Productions' first step, evaluated in this way. I could feel a real “connection” with everyone in the world. Thank you very much. As Homo Ludens, we have renewed our determination to bring “fun” to the world.
