Since release of “Pokémon Red/Green” in 1996, the “Pokémon” series RPG has become very popular videogame software among wide range of fans from children to adults. This work “Pokémon Platinum” is a new version of “Pokémon Diamond/Pearl” released in 2006 and sold so many as over 17 million titles globally. The work was produced by GAME FREAK inc. as with the past series works.
Players are to play the role of the leading character of the game to gather Pokémons and play in tournament with the bred Pokémons aiming to win the championship. In Platinum, an epic story ranging to another world called “Yabureta Sekai” is developed set in Shino province centering on the Pokémon “Giratina” which holds the key of the story. Besides, new elements such as the leading character with a new look and new characters and newly introduced battle frontier are must-see.
The capability to exchange Pokémons with players around the world and playing battle and communicating with them through Wi-Fi connection is another strong appeal.

There are two points we took extra care in producing “Pokémon Platinum”. Firstly, to give new amusement to those users who played the previous work Diamond/Pearl and have them get surprised. Secondly, to make it enjoyable for both new comers to Pokémon and those who are playing Pokémon after a long interval enjoy it.
Fortunately, very many and a wide range of generations of people played the videogame and we are honored to receive such a prize.
Taking this as an encouragement, we will continue to make efforts to provide good work also in future.
Thank you very much.
