Honorable MentionTrick

General Description

Title Trick
Platform PC
School HAL Osaka
Winner's name Setaria viridis

Reason

· The game skillfully combines two meanings of the theme "Utsusu" - to take a photo and to copy
· The game is well designed as a puzzle game where you have to repeatedly think and control using the two themes
· The game was of the highest level for concept, perfectness, and technical ability

Negative
· Although the stability as a game was high, we did not feel a strong appeal
· There were few points to raise the emotions (or they were weak) and we did not feel a strong sense of exhilaration upon defeating enemies, or a sense of achievement upon solving puzzles within the stages
It tends to just be a job of repeatedly taking photos and copying them indifferently.

· The element of switching the focus is interesting, but it increases complexity and dilutes the concept (perhaps it would have been better not to have had it)

Work Introdution

Action puzzle game where the player aims at the goal using the camera functions of "taking a photo," "developing," and "switching the focus."

Use the "take a photo" function to photograph blocks and enemies and copy them onto the stage with the "develop" function. Use the "switch the focus" function to touch objects that are in focus and pass through blurry blocks and enemies that are not in focus. Use the three functions in accordance with the situation of the stage and aim for the goal.

You can just repeat "taking a photo" and "developing" and proceed by force, or proceed by thinking carefully. A big feature of the game is that you can advance freely according to your play style.

The game shines in its concept of replacing the meaning of the theme "Utsusu" with the two elements of taking photos and copying, and in its technical ability in realizing a puzzle game that requires a high level of thinking.
