Game Description
Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? This software, developed under the supervision of Dr. Kawashima at Tohoku University, is designed to improve one's brain functions. By performing simple calculation and speaking exercises for just a few minutes everyday, users can stimulate and strengthen the processing power of their brain. Anyone ranging from non-game users to experienced players can stimulate and exercise their brain while enjoying the game itself. The software features large-size screen fonts and a simple touch-screen-based interface. Detailed explanations are given on screen by a computer-generated character modeled on Dr. Kawashima's own face. This software features an innovative input system that can recognize spoken words and handwriting.

Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brain? This software contains training exercises shown by the latest neurological research to stimulate and exercise the prefrontal cortex - the area of the brain regarded responsible for creativity, memory processing, communication skills and self-control. Users can perform "brain-age" or brain function checks which utilize neurological-science based analysis methods. For the best results it is essential that users keep up their "brain training." The software is packed with extra items such as a progress chart, report card function, information about the brain, and a variety of different exercises to make users want to use the software everyday. The software also provides multi-player exercises. Sharable exercises include picture drawing exercises and calculation contests by up to 16 different users, which can also be used to promote interaction between family and friends.

Comment from the Game Producer
All the developers and everyone else involved in this project are very happy to receive this prestigious award.
At first we hoped that we could create a product based on Dr. Kawashima's proposals which would appeal to those unfamiliar with gaming. Although through the course of the project's development we encountered a number of unexpected hardships, we made use of our accumulated gaming-development knowledge and were able to come up with a product which faithfully reflected Dr. Kawashima's ideas.
Thanks to the high level of support we have received from our customers, we are fortunate enough to receive this award. Thank you very much.
